BM1 MANUEL BARRIENTOS, JR., USN
Came to recruiting duty in October 1968 after completing PNC-1 School at the Service School Command, Naval Training Center,  Bainbridge, Maryland.

Assigned to NRS, Dallas, Texas
I was instructed to find a suitable Office Space in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas to set up a Recruiting Office.   My area of responsibility was from Downtown Dallas south to Wilmer, and from Wilmer west to Lancaster,  DeSoto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill, Midlothian and back to West Dallas than back towards Downtown.   Giving me all of South and west Dallas County.
Recruiters would make out an itinerary and visit each one of the towns at least  three times a week to include the high schools.

We had about ten recruiters assigned to NRS Dallas and we mustered daily at  0800 prior to going on the road.  We didn't have any other offices.  However it was incumbent upon us to find suitable office space to be used as a Navy Recruiting Office.

In Octobr 1, 1971 I was promoted to Chief Petty Officer (E-7)
