In 1917 my grandfather Gil Barrientos got his family together and immigrated to The State of Texas by way of Eagle Pass.
I do not know if he had any brothers or sisters that stayed behind and that is something that has always crossed my mind. I am sure his mother and father stayed behind. My Uncle Mike always talked about the times when they would go to Durango, Mexico.

Before arriving in Dallas they lived around Taff, Texas where they worked the cotton fields I remember back in the 40's, my uncles Miguel and Juan use to travel to West Texas, Colorado, New Mexico or Utah to visit family members. I was very young then but I recall them getting ready to make the trip west.

Grandfather GIL BARRIENTOS was born around 1872 and Grandmother AMADA BARRIENTOS de MARTINES was born around 1873.  These are thier children

My mother BEATRICE RENDON was born on March 18, 1919 in Beaumont, Texas.

My father MANUEL BARRIENTOS was born in Mexico on July 7, 1903 in a town named San Felipe. The town's government offices were burnt down during the Revolution therefore there are no birth records.

My  Grandfather GIL BARRIENTOS was born around 1870 and died July 17, 1961, in Dallas, Texas.

My Grandmother AMADA BARRIENTOS De MARTINES was born around 1872 and died in 1953 in Dallas, Texas.
